Sustainable Organic Corn Production with the Use of Flame Weeding as the Most Sustainable Economical Solution

چکیده
Flame weeding is an alternative method of weed control. Essentially, it a supplement to other physical and mechanical processes used in organic production. Weed control costs have large share the total cost crop This study aimed investigate hand hoeing’s cost-effectiveness, accompanied by inter-row cultivation flame applied maize production using two different machines determine economically best solution. For this purpose, prototype weeder commercial flame-weeding machinery were used. Designed primarily for smaller fields, was equipped with cultivator 70 kg propane bottle. Commercial Red Dragon weeder, fitted 800 tank featuring no implements, designed larger areas. The analysis has shown that hoeing produced higher yield (8.3 t/ha total), but contributed significantly costs. per hectare decreased when compared hoeing. More beneficial economic impacts recorded (489.39 €/ha) than applying (456.47 €/ha). efficacy somewhat limited could be enhanced additional hoeing, if effect machine terms observed. However, that, case, investments are not justified because operating incurred therein (168 met increase 500 kg/ha, i.e., surplus revenue 100 €/ha. Moreover, would considerably more significant fields.

There are 1.9 hectares of productive land available for each of the 6 billion people living in the world at present. In our industrialised Western society it is sometimes hard to realise quite how fundamental land is to our life on earth. The top six inches of land, which is soil, has to provide us with all our food. The land has to absorb much of our waste and is the catchment and filter for o...

It has been more than half a century that plant geneticists and breeders have been trying to assemble a combinationof genes in crop plants, in order to make them as suitable and productive as possible. Plant transformation technology incrop plants was first undertakenin the 1980s based on the ability of foreign gene integration into host plant genome andregeneration of transformed plant cells i...

Quantifying energy issues associated with agricultural systems, even for a two-crop corn (Zea mays L.) and soybean (Glycine max [L.] Merr.) rotation, is not a simple task. It becomes even more complicated if the goal is to include all aspects of sustainability (i.e., economic, environmental, and social). This Issue Paper examines energy issues associated with and affecting corn/soybean rotation...
